IdeaStar employees donated generously this year to make the Christmas season brighter for children at The Phillis Wheatley Josephine Kohler Academy in Cleveland. This year, 94 children, ages two to 13, will receive gifts from their IdeaStar Santa.
We held a wrapping party. Paper was everywhere! And, there were plenty of goodies to share. The gifts will be delivered this week, completing our Santa duties for the year.

Brian Swan and Maugh Htun were among the IdeaStar wrappers. Look! Somebody is getting Hungry Hippos, one of our favorite games.

We are grateful for the many presents under the tree, and are sure the kids will enjoy them.

We were expecting IdeaStar Business Manager Christy Svette to disappear under a pile of papers. Every inch of her office floor, her desk, her table, etc. was covered with important IdeaStar papers. Her excuse? “I’ve been putting this off and today is the day. I’m re-organizing the files,” she said. Toward the end of the day we could hear a faint “help” coming from her office….

IdeaStar’s Mike Wise, Jim Fisher, and Laurel Baldwin attended the Professional Insurance Marketing Association’s 2008 MarkeTTech Symposium, November 9 through 11 in Baltimore. The theme for this year was Is Push Marketing Dying? Consumer Directed Channels.

Mike, one of the meeting chairs, helped arrange for a presentation by Kristin Brewe of Erin Esurance fame. Listen in on a podcast Mike did with Kristin on buzz marketing. You might hear the future of insurance marketing.

Her space is safe! IdeaStar General Manager Susanne Svette offered her covered parking space as the prize for the Second Annual IdeaStar Chili Contest. It was a close race, but Susanne’s secret recipe chili (made by her husband Mark) came out with the most votes. It was really good….

Jane and Christy were careful to try each recipe.

Brian, Greg and Josh were happy to try everything.

Maung just likes chili.

And dessert was the best.
We’re hoping Susanne will share the recipe with us, but for now, she isn’t budging.

IdeaStar’s Wayne Largent (right), in need of .Net developers, found this rather-well-qualified programmer (left) on his lawn. He should be a respected member of Wayne’s development team at least until after Halloween. Click here if you are interested in filling the .Net position after he leaves.
