Will the Real Borat Please Stand Up?

Posted by IdeaStar @ October 30, 2007

The IdeaStar staff was surprised last week to find Borat sitting at Chris Arpajian’s desk. Well, at least the person sitting there looked like Borat. And he certainly sounded like Borat. Could it really be the mock Kazakh journalist of motion picture fame? Check the photos and decide which is Chris and which is the real Borat.

Blog Action Day?

Posted by IdeaStar @ October 15, 2007

It’s officially Blog Action Day. What? You haven’t heard of it? It’s “An international initiative of bloggers … with the aim of uniting thousands of blogging voices, talking about one issue for one day.” This year on Blog Action Day bloggers have been charged with discussing the environment.

So we’ll take this opportunity to discuss one of IdeaStar’s favorite clients, Technical Consumer Products Inc. The leading manufacturer of energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs has an easy solution for those of us who want to help the environment as well as our wallets.

Simply purchase and install one of TCPs compact fluorescents: You know, those swirly shaped light bulbs, and install it in your home. Energy Star states “If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.” That’s a lot of energy savings from one little bulb.

So do your part. Buy a bulb and install it. Just look up Technical Consumer Products compact fluorescent lighting on the Web. Your sure to have many choices.

The Smile Gave It Away. Susanne Identified as the IdeaStar Mystery Employee.

Posted by IdeaStar @ October 4, 2007

This smile doesn’t lie! Seven of 10 respondents for our Mystery Employee contest identified IdeaStar General Manager Susanne Svette as the pictured protagonist, based on her smile. One suggested it was her sister Laurel Baldwin. And two votes were for IdeaStar President Jim Fisher. Hmmmmmmm.

Susanne now. (Note the same T-shirt over the turtleneck.)
Susanne then. Isn’t she cute!

We wonder who the next Mystery Employee will be?

A Little Fun and Ooooh La La for IdeaStar at The Podcast and New Media Expo

Posted by IdeaStar @ October 2, 2007

IdeaStar’s Brent Williams, Mike Wise, Mary Fisher, Jeff Dolsen, and Laurel Baldwin recently attended the Podcast and New Media Expo in sunny Ontario, CA. The premier event for online media focused on generating content, growing an audience, and ways to monetize or market audio and video recordings. The group brought back a lot of information, and is eager to apply it to IdeaStar’s Spinfield Internet Marketing services.

Laurel registered to win a pink Barbie car. We hope she wins. Can’t you just see her cruising around town in the hot pink convertible? We wonder what kind of mileage it gets.

IdeaStar client Ann Yan of Technical Consumer Products, the leading manufacturer of energy -saving compact fluorescent light bulbs, attended the conference, shown here with buddies Jeff (L) and Brent (R). The three have combined talents to produce Help Our World, an online video program supporting energy conservation.
Both Laurel and Brent found time for a picture with the ladies of French Maid TV, an online how-to show with a little extra kick. Yes. In spite of all that learning, we had some fun at the Podcast and New Media Expo.
